A man was fatally shot at Chicago Shootings in a drive-by shooting near Harlem Avenue on Friday night, according to police.
The victim, 18-year old Tyrique Hudson, was seated in a parked vehicle in the 1800 block of West Van Buren Street around 11:45 p.m., when someone opened fire on the car from inside another car driving by Oak Park. The gunman or gunmen are still at large and no arrests have been made.
Police said they didn’t believe the shooting was random and that Chicago Shootings it was targeted. Hudson is the city’s first homicide victim of the year.
Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesman for the Chicago Shootings Police Department, said police do not yet know what motivated the shooting or whether it was gang-related. Guglielmi said Hudson is believed to have been an unintended target.
“A bunch of guys who were sitting in a car got into an argument with somebody driving by in another car,” he said Chicago Shootings.
